Minutes of the DeWitt Village Board Regular Meeting held Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, and Weise, Absent: Workman Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Zachary Schuerman, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, Joan Tietjen for the Library Board, and Saline County Deputy Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Resolution 2026-01 – Sale of Surplus Property; motion and second to approve and adopt Resolution 2026-01. 3. Display Sales – Christmas Pole Decoration Estimate; motion and second to approve the estimate as submitted by Display Sales. 4. JEO – Community Center Engineering Study Grant; motion and second to proceed with the grant application and signing the Letter of Financial Commitment. 5. JEO – Judds Bros Pay Application #7; did not receive information before the meeting, no action taken. Discussions: Saline County Deputy presented their monthly call report and stated that there has a been an increase in thefts of motorized bikes and scooters in the northern area of Saline County. Joan Tietjen presented to the Village Board the Burkley Library’s Annual Report. This report informs the Village Board of the Library’s upcoming events for 2026, their 2025 expenses and that she applied for a gift from Carneige. Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, stated that there is a vehicle damage claim for the Fire Department and that the department responded to several calls this last month. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, discussed with the Village Board regarding Wastewater Treatment Plant project updates, door replacements that will be needed at the WWTP, the diving board for the pool has finally been delivered, maintenance at the Compost Site, water meter replacements, continued issues with Well #5, discussed the matter of a suggested lightning sensor at the ballfields, and getting approval to order the slide for the ballfield order at the next meeting. Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented her Clerk Report consisting of updates regarding 2026 grant ideas, move in/out report, sales tax and keno funds collected, and more feral cats have gone through the TVNR program.
