Minutes of the DeWitt Village Board Regular Meeting held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Utility Maintenance – Zachary Schuerman and Village Clerk – Moria Holly Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting.Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda 2. Park Board – Summer Season; postponed 3. Planning & Zoning Commission – Appointment of Members; motion and second to appoint Brad Garrison, Mike Rahe, Trevor Kropp, Alex Tietjen and Jason Pieper 4. Ordinance 803 – Driveway Request and Damkroger Addition Lot Split; motion and second to approve the driveway and lot split request 5. JEO – Judds Bros Pay Application #9; motion and second to approve and sign the pay application 6. JEO – Johnson Services Pay Application #9; motion and second to approve and sign the pay application 7. JEO – Johnson Services Certificate of Substantial Completion; motion and second to approve and sign the Certificate 8. RL Tiemann – Paving Projects; postponed 9. Plymouth Electric – Ballfield Light Estimate; discussion to postpone project due to the amount estimated Discussions: Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, discussed with the Village Boad that the Fire Department may be updating their rates soon as this has not been done for several years. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, left his report for the Village Board consisting of updates for the pool – painting and leak repairs, water meters being added to the SRF loan, a floodplain audit with the State this month, and getting the parks ready for the summer season. Utility Maintenance, Zachary Schuerman, also discussed the possible issues that continue to plague the pool. After discussion, it was advised to fill the pool, run the pumps and determine the extent any continued leaking. Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented her Clerk Report consisting of updates regarding 2026 grant ideas, approval of the Community Center study grant, move in/out report, sales tax, keno funds collected, complaints regarding the Community Center and the financial status of the Village funds.
