Lester "Les" Auman, 77, of Lincoln, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 30, 2025.
He was born in Beatrice on Aug. 25, 1948, to Alvin and Lois Auman. Lester grew up on the family farm in Clatonia. Lester married the love of his life, Judy, on May 2, 1969, and together they built a beautiful family. He dedicated 30 years of service to the Nebraska State Penitentiary and also 17 years to Union Bank and Trust before retiring.
A devoted family man, Lester’s greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting events. He was an avid fan of Nebraska Husker football and volleyball.
Lester is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his children, Stacy (Nicki) Auman, Michelle Auman, and Melissa (Matt) Vasey; his grandchildren: Kyle, Madison, Sydney, Ethan, and Aubrey; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Auman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lois; his brothers, Dean and Neil; and triplet siblings, Jean, Janice and Joel, who passed away at birth.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 12, from noon – 8 p.m. Family will be present from 6 – 8 p,m., all at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home’s Lincoln location. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Dec. 13, at Horizons Community Church, 3200 Grainger Parkway, Lincoln, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Clatonia Fire & Rescue Dept.
