Gerald and Jeanne (Houdek) Laurenroth of Sacred Heart Church in Crete will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary next week.
They were married June 11, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Church in Ulysses.
Their family members include children, John (deceased), Dan (LeeAnn), Mary (Duane) Aksamit, Bob (Laura), Fred (Dawn Wagner), Kevin, and Darlene (Ken) Hoesche; 45 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
An open house celebration will be Saturday, June 14, at Sprague/Martell Central Light Recreation. Doors open at 3 p.m., with food and drinks at 5 p.m. The couple requests no gifts.
