DIVISION 1 NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received by the Saline County Clerk, Saline County Courthouse, 204 South High Street, Wilber, Nebraska 68465, until Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 11:00am CST, for this bridge replacement and associated grading project in Saline County in Nebraska and other work incidental thereto. The sealed bids are to be plainly marked “Attention: Saline County Clerk, Saline County Courthouse, 204 South High Street, Wilber, Nebraska 68465, Swanton West, Project No. C-76(790) - Structure No. C007602710”. The sealed bids are to be sent or submitted to the Clerk of Saline County, Saline County Courthouse, 204 South High Street, Wilber, Nebraska 68465. The work shall include all labor, materials, transportation, and equipment required for the construction of: Sta. 24+45 Build 95’-0” 3-Span (2-28’-6” & 1-38’-0”) Continuous Concrete Slab Bridge 28’-0” Clear Roadway Special Plan No. 1 Copies of the Bid Documents and Specifications are on file and open to public inspection at the following locations: Speece Lewis Engineers, Inc., 906 S 26th Street, Lincoln NE 68510 Saline County Highway Department, 204 S High Street, Wilber NE 68465 A set of plans may be obtained from Speece Lewis Engineers, Inc., 906 S 26th Street, Lincoln NE, 68510 for a nonrefundable fee of $80.00. Proposals must be signed and submitted on the forms furnished with the Bid Documents. PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT DIVISION 5. Each bidder will be required to submit with his proposal a Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable, without condition, to the County Treasurer of Saline County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of their proposal. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall furnish within ten (10) days after the award a surety bond or bonds in a sum equal to the full amount of the contract. The form of the bonds and surety shall be acceptable to the Saline County Board of Commissioners. The bidder will include an estimated time of beginning and completion for the project with the proposal. The Contractor will be allowed 135 calendar days for completion of the work. The required completion date of the project is October 25, 2024. The Saline Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to pass upon the regularity, and to waive any irregularities. Awarding of the Contract will be in accordance with the provisions of “Competitive Bidding; Consideration”, COUNTY PURCHASING ACT, N.R.S. Sections 23-3101 through 23-3114, any competitive bidding requirements of Nebraska Statutes 16-321, et. seq.
