On Saturday, July 23, 2022, Dianne Sue Wanek, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Wilber, passed away peacefully at home. She was born Aug. 6, 1950, to Tommy and Mavis Houser in Crete.
She graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1968. She then attended Joseph’s College of Beauty in Lincoln. She married Curtis Dale Wanek on Nov. 29, 1969, and lived in Geneva. They moved to Wilber in July 1974. In 1982, she began working at the Wilber Care Center, where she worked for 30 years. In 1991, she went back to school to become an LPN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; parents, Tommy and Mavis Houser; and brother, David Houser. She is survived by her sister, Doris Koll, and brother-in-law Kenneth Koll; brother-in-law, Leslie Wanek; sons, Donald Wanek and wife, Terri, of Crete, Brad Wanek and wife, Keli, of Beatrice, and Scott Wanek of Lincoln; 21 grandkids; 14 great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was Aug. 1. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the family for future designation. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.kunclfh.com.
