Danny L. Troyer was born June 20, 1951, to Milton and Betty (Stutzman) Troyer, in Friend, and passed away Monday, April 25, 2022, in Seward, at the age of 70.

Dan grew up on the family farm and attended Milford Public Schools, graduating in 1969. Following graduation, he attended Hesston College where he received a business degree. Dan was seen by many as a “rock” and it’s no surprise that he found his vocation operating Troyer Concrete for more than 40 years, working with his sons, Ben and Trent, and his brother, Joe.

Dan loved spending time with family, friends and especially his grandkids. He had a gift for helping others and didn’t know a stranger. He lived life so he could offer what he had to others through many acts of kindness, and his legacy will be carried on by his children and others. Like his parents, Dan was devoted to the Milford Mennonite Church, where he served in various leadership roles over the years.

Dan enjoyed playing golf and was a charter member of Thornridge Golf Course in Milford. He enjoyed bowling and played on many leagues through the years. He was also a volunteer firefighter/EMT with the Milford Volunteer Fire department.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Scott Wanetka and grandsons, Ben, Jake and Nicholas Wanetka, all of Milford; son, Ben Troyer and grandchildren, Connor, Keenan, and Kyla Troyer, all of Milford; daughter and son-in-law Cati and Josh Harmoney and granddaughters, Lillian and Ruby Harmoney, all of Seward; son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Allissa Troyer and grandson, Blake, all of Milford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Marcia Troyer of Lincoln, Steve and Theresa Troyer of Milford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Burkey, Dave and Kath Stutzman, all of Milford; sister-in-law, Sandy Troyer of Milford; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Betty Troyer; brother, Joe Troyer; and brother-in-law, Jerry Burkey.

The funeral service was April 29 at the Milford Mennonite Church with burial at the Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Milford Mennonite Church. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.lauberfh.com.
