Elaine Burda started in food service at Wilber-Clatonia School in the fall of 1992 as a baker. She went to a University of Nebraska-Lincoln shortcourse for food service for three summers and became the food service director in 1997.

She became a member of the Nebraska School Nutrition Association and was very involved. She became district chair, vice president and then the president in 2008-2009. She was able to travel throughout Nebraska, as well as Pennsylvania, Texas, Nevada and Illinois to the National School Nutrition Association meetings.

During her years at Wilber-Clatonia Schools, she was on wellness committee, safety committee, unified bowling coach and a Teammate mentor.

Throughout her 29 years at the school, she had a great team to work with and wonderful students and staff to prepare meals for. Feeding the kids the best meals was the goal she accomplished.
